MILAN, the Mysore University Information and Library Science Alumni Network, was established during the golden jubilee celebrations of the Department of Studies in Library and Information Science, popularly known as MyDLIS, in 2015. Over the past nine years, MILAN has organized diverse programs, including conferences, alumni dialogues, National Library Weeks, Librarians' Day Events, and national-level quiz competitions. Through these initiatives, MILAN has played a pivotal role in fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and professional development within the LIS community. As a registered society, MILAN has emerged as a highly active alumni association, making a substantial impact on the national LIS scene.
MyDLIS, The Department of Studies in Library and Information Science, established on June 24th, 1965, at Manasagangotri, University of Mysore, Mysuru has been at the forefront of LIS education and research. Embracing new ideas and technologies, the Department has continually evolved over the decades. Through its unique programs, curriculum innovations, and research projects, MyDLIS has established itself as a leader in the field, carving a niche in the realm of LIS education and research. Currently, the department offers master's and PhD programs.
